A Pendant with Carnelian Tulips

There’s something about the purity of form of tulips that makes me understand (a tiny bit) the tulip-mania that overwhelmed the Dutch in the early 1600s. Somehow the flower is both a concrete flower, and by virtue of its purity and simplicity, also an abstraction. I carved these little tulips for a pendant.
